Principals
Catherine Campbell has been making a positive difference to people’s lives as a clinical psychologist since 1992. Her years of experience mean Catherine has assisted people with a wide array of disorders. She has a strong interest in issues related to trauma, grief and loss. For several years Catherine was a Medical (Treatment) Disputes Assessor for the Motor Accidents Authority of NSW and assisted people involved in motor vehicle accidents.
Prior to becoming a clinical psychologist, Catherine spent many years as a registered nurse, working in accident and emergency, intensive care and the cardiothoracic intensive care units at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. This role has provided her with a highly relevant background that has lead to a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing her clients.
Tamara Kitson has 30 years of experience as a clinical psychologist in adult mental health, built on senior government appointments – senior clinical psychologist in the NSW Health Department and the head psychologist of an area health service.
She specialises in the treatment of complex trauma related disorders. Tamara often gives workshops and lectures to professional groups and was a member of the NSW Psychologists’ Registration Board for seven years.
Clinical Associates
Lynne Bousfield has experience in key psychological areas – depression, anxiety or stress – coupled with expertise in pain management, both practically and academically. She contributes to the pain management program at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and is experienced in occupational rehabilitation with a focus on returning clients to work. Lynne also applies mindfulness meditation in her clinical work as well as teaching it nationally and internationally and presenting at conferences.
Liesel Berling’s areas of professional interest include self-esteem, issues related to sexuality, relationship difficulties, the impact of early life experience on adult personality and trauma. She has worked in agencies specialising in the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder such as the Rape Crisis Centre, Mission Australia’s Victims of Crime and has also spent many years with the UNSW Counselling Service. Liesel has also helped many people seeking advice on gay and lesbian issues.
Kerrie Goldston has a keen interest in the links between psychological and physical health. This has led her to specialise in the treatment of psychological issues associated with medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. She is experienced in helping people with health-related behavioural change such as smoking cessation, weight management and physical inactivity. Kerrie has worked as a registered nurse in cardiac, intensive care and mental health settings. She now also works for the Heart Foundation in a senior clinical role, involving health program management, research and teaching.
Nick Cocco has over 25 years experience as a clinical psychologist and has specialties in the treatment of trauma related conditions ranging from single incident PTSD through to the more complex presentations of personality, dissociative and other disorders which are the sequelae of histories of repetitive child based trauma and neglect. Additionally, he has taught and trained professionals in these areas. Nick utilises various psychological therapies which are extensions of and/or consistent with basic CBT such as Schema Therapy and IRRT (Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy) which are necessary in the successful treatment of clients who are referred with more complex issues. As an EMDR Institute Trainer accredited by the EMDR Association of Australia (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Nick also has expert knowledge in a treatment modality recommended as a first line intervention for PTSD.
Dr Danielle Ellis specialises in treating children and adolescents, and then works with parents to guide them to help their children. Her interest in worry and anxiety is reflected in her research which delves into these conditions in adolescents. Danielle has a range of workforce experience having worked in private, public and university settings. She is involved in providing psychological assessments and treatment at the Emotional Health Clinic, Macquarie University, where she works with clients individually and in group formats. Danielle has worked at the Depression Clinic at Cumberland Hospital, as well as at the Northern Beaches Adolescent Unit with clients experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. Her volunteer efforts are also dedicated to helping adults with anxiety at the Anxiety Disorders Alliance.
Dr Claudia Sannibale has more than 25 years of experience working as a clinical psychologist/senior clinical psychologist in publicly funded clinics. Claudia has an interest in alcohol and other substance use treatment and the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, especially post-traumatic stress disorder. Her approach to treatment is collaborative and motivational and based on research evidence. Claudia has a longstanding interest in the development of empirically supported treatment and has conducted several studies of treatment outcome; she has co-authored journal articles and a book chapter and conducted training workshops, seminars and lectures for health professionals. Claudia is currently a Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales where she collaborates on studies of treatment efficacy in this area of interest.
